June is National Homeownership Month

Homeownership matters and to highlight the benefits of homeownership, June marks National Homeownership Month.  Yes, Americans may be celebrating National Homeownership month in June however every month of the year is a great time to celebrate homeownership and it is NEVER too late to become a homeowner.

Homeownership is the foundation of the American Dream.  Obviously there are economics benefits to owning a home but the reality is homeownership also provides other benefits to you and your family that are not financial in nature.

Americans Vote For Real Estate as the Best Investment

In a recent study done by Gallup, for the 8th year in a row, real estate has been positioned as the number 1 preferred long-term investment among Americans.  For the last 11-years straight, real estate has been growing a disproportioned amount of popularity over other long-term investment vehicles (i.e. stocks/mutual funds, gold savings accounts. Certificate of Deposits and Bonds).  In addition,  when the average homeowner retires, 83% of their retirement will come from their equity in their home where ONLY 17% will come from savings.  Again, home is no longer just home, it is one of the largest assets among households across all age groups.

A Home is much more than an Investment

Today, home is more important than ever which was highlighted after COVID-10 pandemic…our home is not just our home anymore, it is our office, our school, our boardroom, our playground, our gym and it is our sanctuary.

Certified Mortgage Advisor, Kevin Martini with he Martini Group at Cardinal Financial Company in honor of National Homeownership Month created the ‘Kevin Martini Top 8 Reason Reasons to Own a Home’ and they are: Privacy, Family, Comfort,  Personal Expression, Accomplishment, Community, Investment and Stability.

“I have found that many people overestimate the monies needed to buy a home and many people overestimate what their credit score needs to be to secure a home loan.  Many people are in a position to buy but think they cannot.  Right now, during National Homeownership Month, is a great time to see if your are in a position to buy and secure a mortgage.” Kevin Martini
